Milton McKenzie resigns as trustee

After years of service, Milton McKenzie MBE has decided to retire as a trustee of Barking & Dagenham Renew, with the decision being made formally at last night’s meeting of the board.

Milton has been with us on our journey since the very beginning and his experience and knowledge helped to shape what Barking & Dagenham Renew would become – a charity that works for, and with, the residents of the Borough, exactly like Milton himself.

He is a former Councillor, serving for sixteen years across Gascoigne and Chadwell Heath wards, and was elected as the Mayor of Barking and Dagenham in 2011. Milton was also Chair of the GMB Union’s London Regional Race and Equal Rights Committee and his work there was recognised in 2009 with an MBE, awarded for his services to trade unionism and to diversity and equal opportunities in the Borough.

We are very sorry to lose him from our board but we wish him all the best in his future endeavours and hope that he finds the time to take a well deserved break!
